Kudos to the state Senate, for voting to close the gaping loophole in Wyoming's open-container law. Now the House needs to finish the job.

Current Wyoming law allows vehicle passengers to drink on the road, as long as the driver doesn't have one. The uselessness of this law is obvious to nearly everyone - including 25 of Wyoming's 30 state senators.

Tuesday's Senate vote solved the Camper Cooler Conundrum that stalled last year's bill. Open containers will be allowed in motor homes and RVs, as long as the hooch is securely stowed where the driver can't reach it.

That's good enough. Even if some House members have other ideas, this important bill mustn't be quibbled to death for another year.
