Food closet schedule

The food closet for persons in need at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Seventh and Wolcott, will be open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on the first and third Sundays from 10:30 a.m 11:30 a.m.

Western History Center celebration

American Archives Month and the 10th anniversary of the Western History Center will be celebrated from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, in the classroom of the Goodstein Foundation Library on the Casper College campus.

Author and historian Tom Rea will speak about his use of archives in his writing and for Wyohistory.org. There will also be tours, showing the growth of the collections housed and preserved there. Refreshments will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Festival Choir begins Oct. 21

Singers are invited to participate in rehearsals for the annual Festival Choir & Orchestra Concert, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.

The rehearsals will be held at Our Saviour’s from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, beginning Oct. 21 and continuing until the concert, except for no rehearsal on Thanksgiving weekend. A choir registration fee of $15 will help defray costs. New singers are welcome through the November 4 rehearsal. For information, call director Carolyn Deuel at 265-1564.

The choir will present a variety of works, including “Four Carols for Christmas,” arranged by Fred Taylor, a setting of “O Little Town of Bethlehem” arranged by Dan Forrest, “Mary, Did You Know,” and the Rene Clausen arrangement of “O Holy Night."

Better Breathers Oct. 26

The next Better Breathers Club support group will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Nerd Health and Wellness Center at Wyoming Medical Center, 1233 E. Second St.

The topic will be "Emergency Preparedness for Those with Lung Disease." Mike Magee, emergency preparedness coordinator at Wyoming Medical Center will be presenting.

Designed by the American Lung Association, the Better Breathers is a support group for patients with chronic lung diseases and their caregivers. It offers tools and encouragement for managing COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, asthma, lung cancer and other chronic lung disorders. It is locally facilitated by the NERD Health and Wellness Center.

Better Breathers meets on the fourth Thursday of every month and offers presentations on exercise, breathing techniques, supplemental oxygen, general medication education, among other topics. For questions or to sign-up for the Better Breathers Club, call 577-2929.

MOPS annual craft fair

MOPS at College Heights 8th annual Craft Fair is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at College Heights Baptist Church, 1927 S. Walnut St. There is no admission charge.

Robert Treloar Kelly

Casper, Wyoming / November 18, 1927 — October 7, 2017

Robert Treloar Kelly was born, November 18, 1927 in Casper, Wyoming to William T. Kelly and Rose Treloar. He was the fourth child born to that union, Jack, William Dale, Avis Rosemary preceded him in death. His father was an engineer on the Chicago and Quincy Railroad. He never owned a car and walked the three miles to work through rain or shine, snow or sleet.

He attended his elementary grades at Grant school and high school at Natrona County High. He enlisted in the Navy out of high School at age 17. World War II was in progress at the time. After boot camp his ship was out to sea when the war ended. Therefore he spent a year in Pearl Harbor.

Bob and Betty Dana were married in Thayne, Wyoming, December 22, 1951 and were together for 65 years. Four boys were born to that union, Robert Dana, Randall Bruce, Kevin Dale, and Craig Ronald.

He worked various positions with Mobil Oil and retired as an engineer after 39 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, being with his grandchildren and winters in Yuma, Arizona. His best friend Buddy was with him his final years.

Bob lived a fruitful life and passed one month from his 90th birthday.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty; his son’s and their wives, Bob and Linda, Randy and Michelle, Kevin, and Craig and Melinda; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at The Church Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2627 East 7th Street in Casper with military honors accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the United States Navy Funeral Honors. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 14th from 12-1 P.M. at the church. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Casper.

Memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 South Wilson, Casper, WY 82601.

Doris F. Faulhaber: CASPER — Funeral services for Doris F. Faulhaber, 96, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2627 E. 7th St. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at the Oregon Trail State Veteran’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at the church. She died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, in Casper. Newcomer Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
