The second annual “Art Through the Eyes of Dementia” showcase and reception features works by local artists affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related illnesses along with their caregivers. The artworks in the showcase were created by participants who attend the “Here and Now: A Dementia-Specific Art Program” at the Nicolaysen Art Museum.
The event includes wine and hors d’oeuvres. The featured guest is art therapist Michelle Tarsitano-Amato who helped create the art program as a mentor for the American Society on Aging. Local experts will be on hand to answer questions.
