New church in town

A new Independent Full Gospel Church has begun meeting on Casper's west side. Pat and Alma Stewart, pastors of the new Westgate Ministries, said they noticed a need and started the church a few weeks ago. Full Gospel churches believe in signs and wonders and pray regularly for healing for the sick. All are welcome to attend.

Services are held at 2 p.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Mills Community Hall, Fourth and Midwest streets in Mills.

Stepfamily class at Highland Park

Highland Park Community Church is offering a special class to help stepfamilies be successful. "Stepfamily Skills for Life" will meet at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of every month at the church, 411 S. Walsh Dr. Participants will meet with other stepparents and find direction and support from mentors who have survived and thrived in their families.

Casper Aglow hosts prophetic speaker

Casper Aglow International will host Ruth Ann Rudichar as its February speaker. Rudichar pastors Cornerstone Church of God in Gillette with her husband, Bob. She also drives bus for the Campbell County School District.

Before serving in Gillette, she lived in England and Colorado and worked for 33 years as an X-ray technician. She grew in her relationship with God when her first husband of 19 years left her. She met Bob, a minister who'd been through a similar experience, five years later.

Rudichar has the gift of prophecy and encouragement. She will speak at 7 p.m. Monday at the Prayer Center in the Sunrise Shopping Center, 4300 S. Poplar St.

WAC board meets in February

The Wyoming Association of Churches board meeting will be held Monday and Tuesday in Cheyenne. This meeting will coincide with the opening session of the state legislature, so the WAC will sponsor a legislative worship service beginning at noon Monday in the Capitol rotunda. The public is invited to attend this worship event.

The Equality State Policy Center will conduct a legislative training session Wednesday for those who want to be personally involved in having their voice heard during the session. WAC board members and others are invited to participate in this training.

Trinity Lutheran holds Lenten services

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold weekly Lenten services in preparation for Easter. Light dinners will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a worship service at 7 p.m. each Wednesday until March 12. The church is located at the corner of 12th and Missouri streets.

The Rev. Daniel Holthus will speak on the theme, "Salvation is a Bloody Business," emphasizing God's willingness to get his hands dirty to save the world.

Date night done right

Now is your chance to go on a real date with your spouse. The Crossroads Bible Study of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church is offering baby-sitting services on Valentine's Day so couples can get out without the kids.

Baby-sitting will be offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, 4100 Casper Mountain Road, for kids ages 1-12. A donation of $7 for one child, $10 for two and $15 for three or more is requested. All proceeds will benefit Care Net Pregnancy and Resource Clinic of Casper. Each couple will receive a gift bag. Flowers and desserts will be available at a minimal cost.

Abbey of St. Walburga hosts retreat

The Abbey of St. Walburga in Virginia Dale, Colo., will host a Lenten retreat in February. "Roads: a Lenten Poetry Retreat" will use Biblical and non-Biblical poetry to explore the "roads" that define a person's spiritual journey.

Abbey retreats are open to men and women of all denominations. Participants are welcome to join the Nuns of the Abbey for liturgies and mass.

The retreat is Friday through Sunday. It costs $175, which includes a private room with shared bath for two nights and meals from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast. Pre-registration and a $40 deposit are requested.

The abbey is located 29 miles south of Laramie on Highway 287. The entrance is on the west side of the road at mile marker 381.

Beth Moore Bible study

Casper Faith Assembly of God church is starting a Beth Moore Bible study for all women in the community. "Daniel, Lives of Integrity" will offer an in-depth look at Biblical concepts and plenty of discussion. The study will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at the church, 4301 Casper Mountain Road.

There is a registration fee, which includes the cost of the study book.

Revival at Imitate the Image Ministries

Imitate the Image Ministries is holding an old-fashioned revival to preach the gospel, renew spirits and heal hurting hearts. The Rev. Dr. Donald Batson, pastor of Light of the World Praise and Miracle Church in Denver, will be the speaker.

The revival will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 and 11 a.m. Feb. 24 at the church, 1124 N. Elma St. in Casper. The event is free and refreshments will be served. A love offering will be taken.
