Halloween fun
* Haunted House, 'In Your Nightmares,' sponsored by YMCA and local businesses, 6 to 10 p.m. TODAY and SATURDAY, OCT. 24, 25 and 31; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. OCT. 25 at 136 S. Wolcott Street in the Oddfellows Building. Includes a haunted house for children 13 and older and a children's area for those under 13. Children under 13 will be admitted to regular haunted house with parental supervision. Cost: $8 for children 13 and over; $6 for children under 13. If people bring a perishable food donation, cost will be $3 less. Donations will benefit Joshua's Storehouse, Holy Cross Center and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. All proceeds benefit local nonprofit agencies.
* Haunted Hollywood dress rehearsal, 5 to 10 p.m. THURSDAY in the Eastridge Mall parking lot. Cost is $1 and a can of food for Poverty Resistance.

* Enchanted Forest Evening, presented by the Audubon Center at Garden Creek, 6 to 8 p.m. OCT. 24 at the center. Costumed characters will lead you around the grounds of the Audubon Center at Garden Creek. Learn about the lives of bats, owls and other animals before coming in to enjoy some treats. * POWELL: "Bye, Baby Bunting: Children's Clothing 1900-1959," a new exhibit in the Homesteader Museum, opens with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. TODAY. The exhibit celebrates the early century of children's clothes. Shows through DEC. 19. (307) 754-9481.
* JACKSON: The Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance hosts the Patagonia Wild & Scenic film Festival, featuring films on kayaking, skiing, clean energy, conservation and more. * LARAMIE: Ghost Tours of Laramie City, sponsored by the Wyoming Territorial Park Historic Association, 7 to 9:30 p.m. SATURDAY, THURSDAY, OCT. 24, 25, 29, 30 and 31. Transport back to 1868 for a hayride tour through downtown Laramie while getting to know the ghosts from the city's past. Tour ends with a candlelight walk through the historic Wyoming Territorial Prison built in 1872 and supposedly haunted by Julius Greenwald, one of only two prisoners to die at the prison. Tours are 30 minutes and begin every half hour. Cost: $10 per person. Reservations recommended by calling 307-745-6161, ext. 12.
* CHEYENNE: Author Ashley Rhodes-Courter will speak at 11 a.m. SATURDAY at the Laramie County Library and from 2 to 6 p.m. at Barnes & Noble. Rhodes-Courter is author of the memoir, "Three Little Words," about her life in the foster care system. * CALLING ALL WRITERS: The postmark deadline for applications to the Neltje Blanchan and Frank Nelson Doubleday Memorial Writing Awards is OCT. 31. The $1,000 Blanchan Award is given to a writer whose work, in any literary genre, is inspired by nature. The $1,000 Doubleday Award is given to the best manuscript submitted by a woman author. To apply, you must be at least 18 years old and a Wyoming resident. Judge for the competition is prize-winning poet Laurel Blossom from South Carolina.
