Mother’s Day brunch
Mother’s Day brunch in the Bob and Betty Cates Family Ballroom at the Casper Elks Lodge is open to the public and served from 8 to 1 p.m. Cost is $13 for adults, children 6 to 12 are $7, and 5 and under are free with a paying adult. Please make reservations for parties of six or more. Be prepared to wait in line. An elevator is available for access to the ballroom, plus a new chairlift on the stairs. Poplar Living Center tea
Poplar Living Center will mark Nursing Home Week with a Mother’s Day tea at 10 a.m., open to the public.
The 67th annual Shrine Circus will be held at 3 p.m. All children 12 and under are free. Adults pay only $10 at the door. Doors open one hour prior to performance. The circus is put on by The Jordan World Circus from Las Vegas.
Mindfulness workshop at UU
Everyone is invited to a free two-hour workshop facilitated by mindfulness instructor Tim Clark at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Casper, 1040 West 15th St.
Attendees will explore the what, why, and how of living in the present moment, how to develop mindfulness, how to use it to stay present, and where those efforts lead. The class will be mostly discussion with some meditation.

A Jam Session will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eagles Hall, 306 N. Durbin St. Enter through the north parking lot door. There is no admission fee. Burgers will be prepared by the Eagle Riders.
Immersive mystery extended
Casper Theater Company has extended its run of the second in a series of Murder At The Theater. “Unprincipled Practitioner” will run with an “invitation only” dinner theater for Mother’s Day. The dinner theater is $30 per person or $55 per couple. Reservations are necessary for the dinner theater.
