No trash collection Thursday

The City of Casper’s garbage collection schedule will be interrupted by the Thanksgiving holiday. All residents on the City’s Thursday sanitation route will be serviced on Friday and residents on the City’s Friday route will be serviced on Saturday. Residents should have their dumpsters placed on the street next to the sidewalk curb by 7 a.m.

The City of Casper Regional Solid Waste Facility (a.k.a. Balefill) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Although city offices will be closed on Friday, the Solid Waste Facility will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Residents are also reminded to “Cease the Grease” and dispose of cooking oil from turkey fryers properly. Cooking oil from fryers should be cooled, poured into a sealable container and taken to the Special Waste and Diversion Facility located across the street from the landfill. The facility will be open Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cooking oil disposal is free of charge. Other grease and fats from cooking should be poured into a container, allowed to cool, and when solidified, thrown into the trash.
