Trash

pickup delayed

The City of Casper will not collect garbage on New Year’s day. Trash collection for all City of Casper trash customers will be delayed by one day both holiday weeks. The Tuesday route will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday on Thursday; Thursday on Friday; and Friday on Saturday. Residents should have their dumpsters placed on the street next to the sidewalk curb by 7 a.m.

The City of Casper Regional Solid Waste Facility (a.k.a. Balefill) will be closed on New Year’s day. The facility will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day after Christmas (Tuesday) and the day after New Year’s (Tuesday). The facility is closed on Sundays.

Skate all day at

ice arena

The Casper Ice Arena will be hosting Skate All Day sessions during Winter Break. Admission and skate rental for Skate All Day is $6. Participants can come and go throughout the session. Skating tutors are available for $3 each. Children 4 years old and younger are free with a paid admission. Here are the dates and times to mark on your calendar: Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Skate All Day); Jan. 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Skate All Day).

The Casper Ice Arena will be closed Jan. 1 for the holidays.

Boutique 50 percent off sale

Memory Lane Boutique at 319 S. Wilson is having a 50% off Christmas Sale until the end of the year. Come in and say hello to all our great volunteers who take care of the boutique. We are in the administration building of Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, proceeds from MLB help with patient care.

Book selection for home schoolers

Home-schooled first graders can choose their 2018 Wyoming Reads books by visiting the Children’s Department at the Natrona County Library from Tuesday through Jan. 24. Students will receive their book of choice at the Wyoming Reads celebration on May 15, held at the Nicolaysen Art Museum and Natrona County Library. Wyoming Reads is a statewide celebration of literacy during which every first-grader in the state receives a book provided by the Sue Jorgensen Library Foundation. Family movie night

All ages are invited to Family Movie Night at the Natrona County Library at 6:30 p.m. In the third installment of the popular animated trilogy, Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful and more successful twin brother Dru who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist.
