Beatrice "Bea" Walters

Sheridan, Wyoming / February 2, 1925—April 7, 2018

Beatrice “Bea” Walters, 93, passed away of natural causes on April 7, 2018, in Sheridan, Wyoming. Bea was born February 2, 1925 to Lawrence and Bonnie (Bunting) Michels in Albion, Illinois. She was raised and educated in Albion, IL where she graduated from high school in 1942.

Bea married the love of her life, James Edward Walters, September 16, 1942. They met in Albion while Eddie farmed for a neighbor “down the road.” Bea and Eddie were happily married 67 years. They had four children: Rodney, Leigha Jo, David, and Bona. Bea and Eddie moved to Abilene, Texas in 1952. In 1960, they moved to Casper, Wyoming where they established their home for 55 years. Bea and Eddie enjoyed fishing, camping, travelling and square dancing, but the pinnacle of their life was their family. Eddie passed away August 2009.

Bea was also, a member of the Black Sheep Square Dancing Club, Whirl Wind RV Travelling Club, and Primetimers at Casper Faith Assembly of God. After retirement, Bea and Eddie snow birded to Mesa, Arizona for 18 years. Bea attended church at Casper Faith Assembly of God for many years before moving to Sheridan in 2015 to be near her daughter, Bona Riggs. There she attended Grace Baptist Church and frequented the senior center.

Bea is survived by her son, Rodney (and Virginia) Walters of Cheyenne; her son, David (and Barbara) Walters of Casper; and her daughter, Bona (and JR) Riggs of Sheridan. Bea also, has nine living grandchildren and 15 living great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James “Eddie” Walters; younger brother, Mike Michels of Casper; younger sister, Vicki Lagerstrom; her niece, Olanda Lagerstrom; and nephew, Donnie Lagerstrom all of Aikins, Minnesota; and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Walters (of Douglas, WY) and Enrique Santi-Vargas (of Aurora, CO).

Bea was ready to meet her Maker and as a Christ follower, she lived a successful life filled with virtue and integrity.

Memorial services will be held at the Casper Faith Assembly of God Church, 4301 Casper Mountain Road in Casper, WY on Saturday, April 21st at 2:00 PM with Pastor Craig Mellendorf officiating.
