Cheyenne, Wyoming / September 19, 1985 — December 28, 2017
Cody Wayne Allen, was born September 19, 1985 to Bill and DeeAnn Allen in Casper, WY. He attended Paradise Valley Elementary, CY Junior High, and graduated in 2004 from Natrona County High School. Growing up he played hockey and discovered his lifelong love for the game of baseball. He hit his first homerun at Washington Park. He was so proud.
He had resided in Cheyenne for the last 7 years. He worked a variety of jobs where he never met a stranger. In the short 32 years that Cody was with us, he impacted countless lives, more than he knew. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved fishing and the outdoors, and going to baseball games.
While Cody struggled with addiction for over half his life, it did not define who he was. To know Cody was to love him. He had a big smile, gave great hugs, had a charismatic personality, and a dry wicked sense of humor.
Cody died December 28, 2017, in Cheyenne from a heroin overdose. His body and soul had suffered enough and couldn’t handle anymore. He is in a much better place, free from his burdens.
Cody was preceded in death by his hero, his dad.
Cody is survived by his mom and stepdad, Dee and Joe Thoms; sisters, Amy (Mason) Sale and Stephanie (Josh) Hardee; nieces, Chloe, Macy, Elsie and Quincie Sale, Lauren and Claire Hardee; nephew, Dawson Hardee; and beloved dog, Tonto.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Comea Shelter, 1504 Stinson Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001 or the Black Dog Animal Rescue, 3619 Evans Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001, in Cody’s memory.
In the New Year, please resolve to mend, build, and strengthen relationships because tomorrow isn’t promised and life is too short.
Life Commemoration services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
