BOISE, Idaho - Vice President Joe Biden has arrived in Idaho.

Biden's plane landed at the Boise Airport just before 2 p.m. Thursday. The welcoming party includes Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter, Lt. Gov. Brad Little, Secretary of State Ben Ysursa, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and Boise Mayor Dave Bieter.

Biden was expected to arrive four hours earlier, but his plane was delayed due to strong winds.

Biden and a presidential delegation will go straight to the Qwest Arena in downtown Boise to attend the figure skating finals and interact with athletes and volunteers.

Joining Biden is U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Olympic figure-skating medalists Scott Hamilton and Michelle Kwan.
