LANDER - A magistrate has set bail at $50,000 for a Lander man charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his infant son.

Police say six-month-old Tyler Crazythunder died of burns he suffered Nov. 1 when he apparently rolled off a bed and became stuck over an electric baseboard heater. The baby was pronounced dead at Lander hospital.

Police say 24-year-old William Patrick Crazythunder, the boy's father, tested positive for alcohol hours after the boy died. Court documents say Crazythunder was watching the infant and another child at the residence while his girlfriend was at work.

Magistrate Teresa McKee on Friday set bail for Crazythunder at $50,000 cash. A preliminary hearing to determine whether Crazythunder will stand trial is set for Jan. 6.
