A Texas woman wanted for fatally stabbing her boyfriend was arrested Thursday along I-25 south of Wheatland.

Shari Renae Eggum, 33, of Arlington, Texas, was taken into custody without incident after the vehicle she was driving was stopped at 7:39 a.m. about seven miles south of Wheatland.

Texas authorities had previously notified their counterparts in other states, including Wyoming, that Eggum might be headed toward Billings, Mont., via I-25.

At 7:19 a.m., a Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) agent spotted Eggum's vehicle, a four-door gray Dodge sedan with Texas license plates, northbound on I-25 near Chugwater. About 20 minutes later, two Highway Patrol troopers, along with the DCI agent, stopped Eggum at milepost 71. She was taken into custody without incident.

Eggum was transported to Platte County Jail in Wheatland and is awaiting extradition back to Texas. Her vehicle and its contents were sealed and taken into Wheatland for processing by DCI and investigators from Texas.

According to a release posted yesterday on the Arlington, Texas, Police Department website, the warrant for Eggum was issued following the Tuesday evening fatal stabbing of a man in Arlington, a suburban community located between Dallas and Fort Worth. The identity of the victim has not been released.
