CHEYENNE - A storm dropped up to 6 inches of snow in the Cheyenne area, closing a 130-mile stretch of westbound Interstate 80 from Pine Bluffs to Arlington.

The interstate was reopened by 11 a.m. Friday.

The same storm that dropped up to a foot of snow in the Big Horn Mountains on Thursday moved into southeastern Wyoming overnight.

The National Weather Service reported from 3 to 6 inches of snow in the Pine Bluffs, Wheatland, Cheyenne, Laramie and Encampment areas on Friday morning.

The Laramie County School District said buses weren't running in rural areas and classes were canceled at three outlying schools.
