MIAMI - Police say two tourists were tied up and robbed in their hotel room in a Miami suburb.
Police say 58-year-old Randall Carlson of Fairbanks and 53-year-old Patricia Gerondakis of Jackson, Wyo., were tricked into thinking the thieves were hotel security at the Best Western hotel in Cutler Bay.
Authorities say the tourists weren't injured.
Police say that as the pair was looking for their hotel on Wednesday, they met a man who offered to help. They let him inside the car and he directed them to the hotel.
Authorities say he returned with two others and claimed to be hotel security. The three men forced their way inside, tied them up and robbed them.
Police later put one man in custody, but they couldn't confirm it was a robber.
