CHEYENNE - A man was shot and killed at a home near Burns and sheriff's deputies arrested a Cheyenne man.

The man was shot with a handgun in the head and abdomen around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities didn't disclose his identity, saying relatives hadn't been notified.

The shooting happened about 23 miles east of Cheyenne.

Within hours, Laramie County sheriff's deputies arrested Wayne A. Shook, 43, outside his home in Cheyenne. Sheriff's spokesman Gerald Luce said authorities took as evidence a green and white pickup truck and a gun inside the pickup.

Luce said an argument over a vehicle or vehicle parts might have prompted the shooting.
