Rocky Mountain Power will be able to better serve Natrona County customers with larger substations.
The Natrona County Commission on Tuesday approved two requests from the Salt Lake City-based company to expand its substations near Casper and Midwest.
The Casper substation is west of the intersection of the North Salt Creek Highway and Revenue Boulevard. The Midwest substation is several miles north of the intersection of Wyoming Highway 387 U.S. Highway 87.
The company intends to install six large circuit breakers and other equipment at its Casper substation, and install major equipment and relocate existing overhead power lines at its Midwest substation.
