CHEYENNE - Long-distance telephone service has been restored to some 16,000 customers in Wyoming.
Qwest spokeswoman Jennifer Barton says service was restored at 1:10 a.m. today.
Long-distance service was lost about 24 hours earlier when high water on Horseshoe Creek near Glendo damaged an underground line.
She said repair crews were hampered by heavy rain, hail and high water.
The long-distance outage affected northern and central Wyoming, including Wheatland, Gillette, Sheridan, Riverton, Lander, Cody and Jackson.
