ROCK SPRINGS - Sweetwater County residents will be able to step back in time when three vintage planes stop in Rock Springs to commemorate the original transcontinental air mail flights.

Rock Springs was one of the original stops on the first air mail route in the 1920s from New York to San Francisco.

The Rock Springs airport still features the original hanger used during the early air mail flights.

Three vintage airplanes will arrive in Rock Springs during the early evening on Sept. 13 and will stay overnight.
