Prosecutors charged a Natrona County Detention Center inmate Monday with methamphetamine possession after jail deputies allegedly found a substance suspected of being the drug inside her cell.
The substance was found Thursday in a clear plastic bag inside the cell of Roberta Lynn Leake, according to an affidavit signed by a Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation special agent. The bag was found near a towel hook, between two pieces of metal.
The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Leake, 47, allegedly told investigators she obtained the drugs from another inmate and concealed it inside her body, according to the affidavit. She did not identify the inmate, but said she eventually put the drug on a hook in her cell.
Leake remained held Monday at the detention center. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison.
