Several agencies offer flu vaccines

With flu season right around the corner, local organizations have scheduled their flu immunization clinics.

Below is a list of some of places people can go:

Casper-Natrona County Health Department

The health department has scheduled its annual flu and pneumonia vaccine clinics across Casper. Flu shouts are $15 for adults and $14 for children under 18 and pneumonia shots cost $50.

Medicare recipients must bring their Medicare cards with them to the clinics. Medicaid will be accepted only at the health department offices.

The health department will also hold two flu vaccine clinics for children under the age of 3. Children under 3 need special dosing of the shot and cannot receive it during the normally scheduled clinics.

The children's flu vaccine clinics will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and on Oct.17 at the health department, 475 S. Spruce St.

Here are the health department's flu and pneumonia vaccine clinics:

- Oct. 20 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Casper Senior Center at 1831 E. Fourth St.

- Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Industrial Building at 1700 Fairgrounds Road

- Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Casper College Auxiliary Gym at 125 College Drive

- Oct. 27 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Casper Senior Center

- Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Imitate the Image Church at 1124 Elma St.

- Nov. 3 from noon until 6 p.m. at the Casper-Natrona County Health Department

- Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mills Senior Center at 431 Wasatch Ave.

- Nov. 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Highland Park Community Church at 411 S. Walsh St.

- Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Highland Park Community Church

- Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Evansville Senior Center at 215 Curtis St.

- Nov. 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Midwest Town Hall at 531 Peake St.

- Nov. 17, Nov. 24, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 from noon to 6 p.m. at the health department

The health department will also provide flu vaccines during regular business hours at its offices on Spruce Street.

Community Health Center of Central Wyoming

The health center will hold its flu vaccine clinics from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoons starting today and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday mornings.

Patients should report to the pharmacy at the health center at 1522 E. A St. during the clinics. No appointment is necessary and charges will be directly billed to Medicare, Medicaid or other insurance.

The clinics are only for people ages 19 and older, but children and any patient can still obtain a flu vaccine during their scheduled medical appointments.

Safeway Food & Drug

The 300 E. Wyoming Blvd. location

- Today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Oct. 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

1375 CY Ave. location

- Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Shots cost $28 except for Medicare recipients receive the shot for free. If you are unable to attend these clinics, flu vaccines will be available in store pharmacies when there is a pharmacist on site.

Casper VA Outpatient Clinic

Veterans can receive their flu vaccines during clinics at the Casper VA clinic at 4140 S. Poplar St.:

- Oct. 16 and Nov. 20 from noon to 6:30 p.m.

- Oct. 23, Oct. 30, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 from noon to 4 p.m.

Veterans can also obtain flu vaccines during scheduled appointments.
