No serious injuries were reported and no one was taken to the Wyoming Medical Center after smoke filled the hallways in one section of the Gail Gardens senior citizens apartments at 300 West B-C St. early Saturday evening, according to a prepared statement from the Casper Fire-EMS Department.

The department responded to a fire alarm at the apartment complex at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Additional units were requested including the Natrona County Fire Protection District because of the size of the building and large number of occupants.

Crews determined the smoke came from an oven on clean cycle.

Firefighters used power fans to remove smoke from the building while WMC paramedics evaluated several building occupants, including the resident of the affected apartment.

Damage to the building was limited to light smoke and odor damage to the original apartment and in the hallways.

Firefighters remained on scene for a short time clearing smoke from the building. Residents were then allowed to return to their apartments.
