"King John" comes to art museum

Tickets are on sale now for Friday's performance of William Shakespeare's "King John" by the Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company at the Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center. The production begins at 7 p.m. and is directed by Diane Springford.

The cost is $10 for museum members and $15 for nonmembers.

Library hosts release party

The Natrona County Public Library will host a book release party for the next book in Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight Saga" from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Copies of the previous books will be given away as prizes throughout the night.

There will be costume and trivia contests and pizza.

CY hosts WEB orientation

CY Junior High will host WEB - Where Everybody Belongs - an orientation and transition program, for incoming sixth- and seventh-graders, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15, according to a release from the school district.

Members of the eighth- and ninth-grade classes will be trained as WEB leaders and will serve as mentors for the program.

Following the initial orientation, WEB leaders will continue to work with their groups during academic and social follow-ups throughout the year.

The orientation is only open to students, but families are invited to join their children for a post-orientation lunch at 11:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.

Sick Puppies opens for Staind

Modern rock trio Sick Puppies, based in Sydney, Australia, will open for Staind and Finger Eleven when they perform at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Casper Events Center.

Sick Puppies opened for Evanescence when the band played in Casper in November 2007.
