Like any typical Fourth of July, the swoosh, boom and crackle of fireworks and sparklers will be heard throughout Casper the entire holiday.

But those aren't the only sounds people wishing to celebrate can hear this weekend.

Besides fireworks, there are a variety of events happening in town over the holiday to please the ears as well as excite all your senses.

Listen to the music

Several different musical acts will descend on Casper to perform for Fireworks Festival 2009.

Starting at 4:30 p.m., the local reggae and rock band, Seeds n' Stems, will take the stage, followed by the regional Eli Manor Band, which offers a mix of blues and metal influences, at 5:45 p.m.

Co-headliner John Hampson will perform at 7 p.m. The guitarist and vocalist from the band Nine Days is out on his own and released a solo album "Shiny New Album" earlier this month.

Finally, Nashville duo Tabor-Dame will round out the acts with a soulful bluegrass performance at 8:30 p.m.

Entrance to the entire festival costs $10 a car or $5 per cyclist or pedestrian.

Add to the cheers

Casper's teams need to hear all the cheering they can get to take on their opponents this weekend.

The Wyoming Calvary play the Ogden Knights in their final regular season game today at 6:05 p.m. at the Casper Events Center. Ticket prices range from $12 to $32, but a ticket stub gets you into Fireworks Festival 2009 for free.

The Casper Ghosts host two games this weekend at Mike Lansing Field against the Ogden Raptors. Today's game starts at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday's game at 5:05 p.m.

Cover your ears

You might want some headphones or ear plugs for today's Demolition Derby at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds.

Or maybe the loud crashes and smashes are just why you want to attend an event like this.

Tickets cost $10.

Scream your head off

Screams from fright and screams from delight will abound at the 2009 Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo today, Sunday and through next week.

The Crabtree Amusements Carnival offers rides of all shapes and sizes for people of all ages that are sure to make you create some kind of noise.

Admission to the fair costs $4 and a carnival wristband costs $26.

Get your annual fill of booms and crackles

If your ears haven't had enough, yet, watch Casper's fireworks display today at the Casper Events Center starting at 10 p.m.

Not experiencing sensory overload, yet - try watching the fireworks with special 3-D glasses while listening to the official fireworks soundtrack.

The soundtrack will be broadcast on 104.7 KISS-FM, 107.9 The River, K2 Radio, Rock 96.7, My Country 95.5 and Real Talk/Real People - AM 1400.
