After the frenzy of graduation has died down, two graduates of Natrona County High School know they'll remember a few things about their senior year.
Like playing the game of Life in their English literature class, and how it felt to be at the top of the campus food-chain for a year, being role models for freshman students. They'll also remember just hanging out with friends, doing nothing in particular.
"The year went by way too fast," said senior William Rath.
"It did," added senior Jeremy Peters. "Extremely fast."
The senior class at Natrona County High School will graduate this evening in a ceremony at the Casper Events Center. The ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m.
Rath and Peters said they and their classmates had a lot of fun being students at Natrona County.
"We just goofed around a lot," Rath said.
"It feels good to be done with all this and to move on to the next big thing," Peters said.
Senior Michelle Booth said she's excited to move on, but that she will miss the art shows, teachers and friends that helped define her high school experience.
"I liked the free education," Booth said with a laugh. "I don't want to pay for college. I will miss [high school]."
Social studies teacher Bruce Berst said the Class of 2009 was a great one, especially in terms of the students who became leaders of the class and student councils.
Everyone had an outstanding commitment to helping each other and the community, and Berst said he couldn't have asked for a better group of kids to work with.
"They just went above and beyond," he said. "They set a high standard for underclassmen."
