Casper-area residents experienced a power outage Friday morning, the second incident in as many days and the third in two weeks.

The outage was reported at about 9:25 a.m., and has affected 2,585 customers, according to David Eskelsen, spokesperson for Rocky Mountain Power. Eskelsen said workers were examining the Community Park substation and lines for damage.

Power was restored at about 10:10 a.m.

A six-minute blackout yesterday affected about 28,000 residents and caused black smoke to pour from the Sinclair Refinery in Evansville.

On Sept. 20, 1,841 customers in the downtown area of Casper lost power for about an hour.

None of the incidents are related, according to Eskelsen.
