Superintendent forum is Wednesday

The Natrona County School District Board of Trustees will host a public forum for finalists for the superintendent position from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kelly Walsh High School auditorium. The finalists have not been announced.

At the forum, the public will have the opportunity to meet the finalists, ask them questions and fill out comment sheets. The board of trustees and superintendent search committee will review these comments as part of the final selection process.

Following the interviews, the board may consider site visits prior to making a final decision. The board hopes to announce their superintendent selection in early March.

Jim Lowham, the current superintendent, will retire in June.

Crime Stoppers signs are available

Crime Stoppers signs are available for local businesses that would like to carry the message.

The metal signs contain the Crime Stoppers logo, telephone number and Web site address where people can submit tips. The signs are $75, but the Downtown Development Authority has set aside funding to cover the cost for a limited number of businesses within the downtown district.

Interested businesses or property owners should contact Tina Wulf, DDA executive director, at 235-6710.

Business owners outside of the downtown district who are interested in displaying these signs should call Crime Stoppers of Central Wyoming at 577-8477.

Ice Bowl benefits food bank

The Casper Disc Golf Club will host the Ice Bowl event on Feb. 17 to benefit the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies.

The group's site is across the North Platte River from the North Casper Soccer Complex. The game is similar to golf but involves flying discs and baskets on a pole instead of clubs and balls. Players of all skill levels are invited, spectators are welcome, and prizes will be awarded.

For more information, contact Jason Vlcan at (307) 472-5245.
