A Cheyenne man pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of indecent liberties with a child stemming from allegations dating back more than 30 years.

Bobby T. Edwards, 65, faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted on all charges. He is accused of molesting a girl in incidents alleged to have spanned from 1974 to either 1979 or 1980.

The alleged victim came forward in July 2007 when she told an investigator with the Natrona County sheriff's office, according to an affidavit signed by the investigator. Charges were filed the following June.

Edwards appeared in Natrona County District Court for his arraignment Thursday morning, where he spoke only to answer procedural questions from the judge. He remains free on bond.
