Hey, Answer Girl -

With increased traffic, as well as construction of a new Junior High on Wyoming Boulevard, does WYDOT have plans for decreased speed limit and installation of at least one stop light? Here's hoping a fatality won't happen before action is taken.

- Cautious in Casper

Jeff Goetz, public information specialist with the Wyoming Department of Transportation District 2 (the Casper District), says "Let there be lights!"

On Wyoming Boulevard, lights will be placed at Plaza Drive, Talon Drive and Eagle Drive, as making a left turn onto Wyoming Boulevard has become nearly impossible.

And while at this time there are no plans to decrease or increase the speed limits in the area, Goetz said that WYDOT is always on the lookout for traffic that dictates higher speeds. As the area develops further and traffic increases, lower speeds are definitely a possibility.

Where are the drop boxes for Salvation Army donations? There used to be one in the Smith's parking lot, but we didn't find one, even at the Salvation Army building downtown.

- Gloria M.

The Salvation Army actually doesn't have any drop boxes around town. According to a worker at the downtown Salvation Army Hope Center, all donations must be taken directly to the Salvation Army thrift store, which is located at 1230 E. Yellowstone.

Now that professional football is getting into full swing, I am curious as to why the helmets, on the back lower right quadrant, have printing on the helmet that has been either painted or covered with duct tape. What do they not want the fans to see? Made in China?

- Dick

It's a matter of National Football League logo standards.

Often, the NFL and other big sporting leagues have branding deals with companies - like Nike, for example.

So if the helmet is made by Adidas, one of Nike's direct competitors, the player wearing the helmet isn't allowed to let that logo show. Thus, it is covered over with tape.

Just ask Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, who was fined $100,000 by the NFL for wearing a hat during a Super Bowl media day that included a sponsor not approved by the NFL. The hat had a vitaminwater logo and Urlacher drank vitaminwater throughout the day, but the NFL's official drink sponsor is Gatorade.

The same thing happened to Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, who was fined $10,000 for wearing gold Adidas shoes in a 2006 preseason game. The NFL only allows Nike or Reebok shoes.

So for athletes in the NFL, taping over a wrong logo on a helmet is much cheaper than letting it go.

And heck, maybe some do cover over "Made in China." It is, after all, a national league.
