The Natrona County commissioners elected Rob Hendry for a second term as chairman for 2009 at its meeting on Tuesday.

They also elected newcomer Ed Opella to be vice chairman.

Hendry was elected in 2006, and took office in early 2007.

He succeeded former Chairman Jon Campbell in 2008, and joked Tuesday that he must have learned enough to go for another term as chairman.

In the November general election, former Casper Mayor and City Councilman Opella won the post being vacated by the retiring Campbell.

Business was light at the biweekly meeting, with commissioners approving a conditional use permit for temporarily sheltering livestock near a residential zoning district near Bar Nunn.

Commissioners also approved a resolution for extending the boat ramp at Grey Reef, with private citizens putting up $20,000 and the county's Road and Bridge Department offering an equal amount in in-kind services such as grading.

With county attorney Eric Nelson's departure for a private law practice, the commissioners named Heather Duncan-Malone as interim county attorney.

Commissioners also approved appointments to several county boards, districts and councils:

- Eric Nelson, Natrona County Airport Board

- Jerry Burridge, Natrona County Park Board

- Jerome Neumiller, Natrona County Weed & Pest District

- William Kelly, Natrona County Weed & Pest District

- Don Williams, Natrona County Weed & Pest District

- S.F. Curuchet, Natrona County Weed & Pest District

- Steve Berdahl, Planning & Development Appeals Board

- Curt Simpson, Predator Management District of Natrona County

- Debra Moerke, Citizens Transportation Advisory Council

However, commissioners voted to table the appointment of Kelly Burch to the Central Wyoming Fair Board and will discuss the appointment at a future date.
