Centennial JH honors vets
Centennial Junior High School will host its annual Veterans' Day assembly at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 in the Centennial gymnasium, according to a media release.
Dan Lenihan, who served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, will be the guest speaker.
Interested veterans are invited to attend. Coffee and rolls will be served to guests at 8 a.m. in the library.

FFA students place at national event
The Casper Future Farmers of American competed at the national FFA event on Oct. 21-24 in Indianapolis, according to a media release.
Sarah Saulsbury was a national finalist, placing third overall in extemporaneous public speaking and receiving a $1,000 scholarship. Lisa Andreen and James Rosenbaum placed second in their science division.
The horse judging team placed third overall out of 45 teams. Keylee Sayler received an individual fourth place finish and earned a $500 scholarship. Brittany Clemetson placed ninth overall. Other members of the team were Sarah Frisbee and Zoey Taucher.
The poultry evaluation team placed fifth overall. This team competed against 36 other states champion teams, most of which are larger poultry states than Wyoming. The team consisted of Kaycee Vollmar, Asher Markworth, Danielle Mason and Kaitlynn Glover.
College hosts fundraising concert
Tickets are on sale for Casper College's fifth annual "Strike up the Band" big-band dinner dance scheduled for Nov. 14 in the Grand Ballroom at the Parkway Plaza. Proceeds from the dinner dance will support the music department's scholarship fund, according to a media release.
The jazz ensemble will perform numbers from the 1930s, '40s and '50s.
A buffet dinner will begin at 6 p.m. A cash bar will also be available. Dancing will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $35 per individual or $50 per couple. For those wishing to dance only, tickets are $15 per person. Reservations must be made by Nov. 11 by calling the Casper College Music Department at 268-2606, or toll free 800-442-2963, ext. 2606.
Hogadon offers season passes
Hogadon Ski Area is season passes at reduced prices until Dec. 1, according to a media release.
First-time buyers can buy passes for $150; preseason passes are $200.
Purchase the passes at the Casper Recreation Center, 1801 E. Fourth St.
