Helping others while having fun could be the theme for this weekend's myriad activities set for Casper.
Bowl for Jason's Friends is today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., at El Marko Lanes.
Teams will consist of five people who are encouraged to collect pledges prior to bowling. Free shirts will be awarded to each bowler gathering $50 or more in pledges, with special adult and youth prizes for the most pledges collected. Each team will bowl for about an hour. The day is filled with contests, giveaways, food, prizes and fun.
NOWCAP Services hosts its Wyoming Disability Awareness Walk at the Eastridge Mall. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the walk beginning at 10 a.m. This is a fun-filled, family-friendly event that everyone can come out and enjoy. Great food will be provided by Old Chicago and Eggington's.
Learn how to make Japanese noodles in cooking class at Costplus Appliance and Design Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., taught by Lesley Travers. For more information, call 577-7404.
Susan Thomas, wife of the late U.S. Sen. Craig Thomas, will be the guest speaker for Reach 4 A Star Riding Academy's "Ticket 2 Ride" fundraising event at the Casper Petroleum Club. Thomas' topic will be "The Importance of Learning."
The evening will feature a "Nite at the Races" with previously recorded horse races, bets to be placed with "horse bucks." An open bar begins at 6:30, dinner at 7 and racing at 8:30.

St. Vincent de Paul, 301 E. H, is having a bag sale today. There are lots of winter clothes remaining. Coats and winter accessories are half off, shoes will be only 50 cents.
