Through the coming week, the Kelly Walsh High School Student Council is sponsoring a number of activities for the public to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation of Wyoming.

Members of the student council have set a goal to raise $7,000 during the week, which is the average expense of one child's wish. If you are unable to attend an activity, but would like to make a donation, please contact Ben Schanck at 233-2837 or Liz Masterson at 577-4640.

Admission fees for some of the events apply, and all proceeds will be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation of Wyoming.

*Monday, April 28: Wish Week Kick-Off Assembly, 9:15 a.m., Kelly Walsh main gym.

Ann Zwickl, executive director of the Make A Wish Foundation of Wyoming, will help the school launch its first Wish Week. Students and staff will have the opportunity to view a DVD featuring a Wyoming Wish Child, whose wish was to be a member of the Colorado Rockies for a day.

Buff Puff Volleyball, 7 p.m. in the KWHS main gym.

Just like Powder Puff Football, Buff Puff will feature the KW senior boy's football team taking on the underclassmen boy's football team. Admission is $3. There will be a number of other games in which spectators can participate. This activity is open to everyone.

*Tuesday, April 29: Man of Troy, 7 p.m. in the KWHS cafeteria.

Come see senior boys strut their stuff in the return of the Man of Troy competition. Seniors will open the show with a performance (song and dance), show off in formal wear, model the latest in swim wear (board shorts and T-shirts, with props), a talent competition, and a question and answer session. Admission is $3 admission.

*Wednesday, April 30: Student Council members will visit Kelly Walsh classrooms between 9:25 a.m. and 11 a.m. to sell paper stars for $1 each on which students and staff can write their name, to be displayed within the school. They also will sell magnetic wish stars for $2 each to place on vehicles, refrigerators, desks, filing cabinets, etc. Jars also will be passed around to collect money for the leg shaving contest to be held May 2.

*Thursday, May 1: Dive-in Movie, 7 p.m. in the KWHS indoor pool.

Bring floatation devices, swimsuits and towels to enjoy an American classic projected on the wall. Admission is $3 to help offset the costs of the lifeguards. Donations to the Make A Wish Foundation will also be accepted at this event.

*Friday, May 2: Assembly, 2:40 p.m., main gym.

The individuals with the largest amount of money in their jars will have their legs shaved (from the knee down). Also at this assembly, the final amount of money raised will be announced.
