A man who police say became combative with two officers, requiring them to use a Taser to control him, was taken to Wyoming Medical Center on Friday afternoon for treatment.

The incident occurred at 1:40 p.m. when the Casper police officers responded to the 1000 block of West 21st Street for a citizen assist call, said Lt. Chris Walsh.

When they arrived, they encountered a 38-year-old man who became "very combative" with them, Walsh said. The officers used a Taser in an effort to get the man under control.

Afterward, the man was taken to the hospital. Police did not release his name or condition.

The incident is being examined by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. A message left at the Casper DCI office wasn't returned Friday afternoon.

Police blocked off a section of West 21st Street during Friday's investigation, and officers appeared to be marking evidence in front of a home near the intersection with North Poplar Street.

A Star-Tribune photographer saw gurneys and two ambulances in front of the home a little after 2:30 p.m.

A U-Haul truck was parked in the driveway of the home. Pieces of medical equipment and other items were strewn nearby. Clutter filled the open garage and backyard of the one-story home.

Officers photographed and took measurements of two patrol cars parked across the street from the home. Investigators with DCI and the Natrona County Sheriff's Office were also at the scene.
