Concert, dessert tickets $30
There are fundraisers and benefits, and then there is The Fab 4, a Colorado Beatles tribute band, who last year had a crowd of music lovers and community leaders dancing in the aisles and nearly on the tables.
Saturday, the group returns to benefit the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation. Concert tickets at $30 each and also include dessert and coffee in the ballrooms of the Best Western Ramkota Inn.
The group takes the audience back to 1964, when four black-suited Liverpool lads changed the face of music with an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
The four self-described Beatles nuts who comprise The Fab 4 have spent hundreds of hours studying the music, the layered vocal harmonics and the subtle instrumentation of the Beatles.
The concert consists of three sets, which comprise the three different periods of Beatles music, said event chairman Diane Guerttman.
"I was very nervous about doing the same thing two years in a row," Guerttman said, "but people loved them so much, they wanted them back and ticket sales have been great."
Nearly 300 of the concert-goers will have dined previously at the Connoisseur's Delight event, which sold out quickly. But another 100 will be welcome at the concert and dessert portion of the evening.
Each year, the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation receives requests from the community and the hospital for assistance. Sometimes, the requests are for specific equipment, such as a pediatric table for the emergency room, and sometimes the requests are more broad, like support for Project Lifesaver tracking devices, a program of the Natrona County Sheriff's Department to insure the safe recovery of folks who may get lost in their own community because of diminished capacity.
Masterson Place, a home away from home for hospital patients and their families, as well as the LifeFlight program, which currently is in need of a night vision goggle system to enable the safe recovery of victims in night emergencies, will continue to receive the foundation's support.
To purchase concert tickets for The Fab 4 and eliminate waiting in line on Saturday, visit the foundation office today at 1139 E. 2nd St., or call 577-2914.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday with the concert beginning at 8 p.m., and tickets will be available at the door.
