A Casper man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges he robbed an Evansville convenience store at gunpoint in June.

Christopher Meeks, 22, is charged with aggravated robbery and conspiracy. He faces up to 50 years in prison if convicted.

During his brief appearance in Natrona County District Court on Wednesday, Meeks spoke only to answer procedural questions from Judge David Park.

Police suspect Meeks held up the Curtis Street Loaf 'N Jug store early in the morning of June 19. About $200 was stolen in the heist.

Officers arrested Meeks and a Casper teenager the next day at a home in Casper. The teen, 17-year-old Andy Jacob Jolley, pleaded guilty earlier this month to participating in the robbery. Jolley told a judge he gave a 9 mm pistol to the person who committed the robbery, but did not identify who that person was.

Jolley, who is being charged as an adult, has not been sentenced.

A store clerk told police the robbery happened at about 1:20 a.m. when a man pointed a gun at her and provided her with a pillow case in which to empty money from the register.

Meeks remained held Wednesday at Natrona County Detention Center in lieu of $75,000 bond.
