Snow causes pileup
Casper police responded to more than 20 accidents on Monday after the first major snow since October.
Eventually, police called Monday a "snow day" and told those in accidents that didn't involve injuries, serious property damage or intoxication to exchange information and report the accident the next day.
Nearly 20 cars piled up in an accident near 12th and Missouri streets, resulting in several street detours.
Police seek help on robbery
The Casper Police Department wants help from anyone who knows about a robbery in a locked storage unit on Yellowstone Highway.
Someone pried the latch and lock off of the storage shed in the last week in November and took a small 2-foot-by-2-foot fire safe with cash and jewelry inside.

Evansville students give back by reading
Third-, fourth- and fifth-graders at Evansville Elementary School will show off their reading skills to local seniors on Saturday, according to a release.
"They've been practicing reading," fifth-grade teacher Amy Radden said, "and they want to read to seniors to do something for the community."
The students will be at Meadow Winds from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and Park Place from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.
Kids shop with a cop for Christmas
Approximately 70 local students will "Shop With A Cop" from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the westside Wal-Mart, according to a release. The group will spend $3,900 provided by the Wal-Mart Foundation.
The money, likely to be $50 gift cards for each child, can be used to purchase anything appropriate - for example movies, food, clothes, gifts - said Casper Police Officer Jay Snider.
Casper, Mills and Evansville police departments, Natrona County Sheriff's Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol, will participate.
"It's touching," said Darrell Seurer , Wal-Mart store manager. "So many times, cops are seen as bad. But this gives the kids the opportunity to see that they're there to help them."

College presents 'Shiny' concert
The Casper College jazz ensemble, concert band and brass ensemble will present "A Shiny New Winter" concert at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Durham Hall, located in the Aley Fine Arts Center, according to a release.
The jazz ensemble will perform first and play a very short program of Christmas favorites, and the concert band will play new selections.
The event is free and open to the public.
