The Wyoming Highway Patrol announced Friday morning that Wyoming Highway 220, approximately 10 miles west of Casper at mile marker 104, would be closed at approximately 10 a.m. for about four hours while a load of liquified sodium cyanide from a wrecked tanker is moved.

The wreck between a pickup truck and tanker truck at 8 a.m. Thursday resulted in the death of the pickup driver, Gregory D. Macmillan, 60, of Washington state.

While the road is closed, the overturned tanker will be uprighted and if needed, the liquefied load will be transferred into the second truck. The temporary road closure is a precaution in order to provide a safe working environment for those individuals working around the crash scene and to the motoring public.

All traffic will be detoured and re-routed onto Goose Egg Road. This detour will be approximately 2-1/2 miles in length. The roadway will be returned to normal traffic when the cleanup has been completed.
