A Casper woman died late Friday when the van she was riding in overturned along Interstate 90 near Sheridan.

Jennifer A. Jordan, 25, wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the van during the rollover, which happened at about 11:30 p.m., according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol report.

The van's driver, 33-year-old Myra A. Johnson of Evansville, lost control of the vehicle six miles south of Sheridan. The road was icy and snowy at the time, the highway patrol said.

The van fishtailed and then spun as it traveled off the highway. It went down an embankment and rolled once.

Johnson also wasn't wearing her seat belt and was ejected. Her 4-month-old son, Dominic Stowe, was riding in a car seat that was incorrectly installed, according to the report. He fell out of the seat but remained in the van and was not injured.

An ambulance took Johnson and her son to Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. They were later airlifted to St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Mont. Jordan died at the scene.

Troopers who investigated the crash suspect that the vehicle was traveling too fast for the conditions, which may have contributed to the crash, the highway patrol said.

Friday's wreck was the 36th fatality on Wyoming roads this year.
