Health IT group names director
The Wyoming Health Information Organization (WyHIO) and its chair, Dr. Geoffrey Smith, named long-time Wyoming resident, Larry Biggio, as its new executive director.
Biggio recently retired from Wyoming state government where he held several technology and financial positions including Chief Information Officer for the state.
WyHIO was created in 2005 by the Wyoming Healthcare Commission to develop a health information technology system for the state. The group was created to expand the number of practices that file insurance claims electronically and build a system where doctors can send prescriptions over e-mail, among other technological updates.
