Library holds teen program

The Natrona County Public Library's summer reading program for teens will allow teens to meet artists and authors, make crafts and display talents, according to a media release.

Teens can sign up and receive a list of special events starting at 10 a.m. on June 3 in the Teen Zone at the main library, or at any other library branch.' An 'Express Yourself' open house with snacks, crafts and other fun activities to kick off the summer will be held in the Teen Zone from 2 to 5 p.m.

Summer reading programs begin

Summer reading programs at the Natrona County Library for children, teens and adults begin on June 3, according to a media release.

Those interested should pick up a reading log and summer schedule at any library branch, including the bookmobile. Reading programs run through July 31, and are sponsored by the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, Casper Ghosts, McDonalds, and Target.' Stretch Your Food Dollars

People interested in how healthy eating can be both nutritious and affordable can find out during a Cent$ible Nutrition Class at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the Natrona County Public Library, according to a media release.

In this class, people will learn to read nutrition labels, understand packaging claims, make the best choices from produce, bakery, dairy and meat departments, compare fresh, frozen and canned products, and much more.

People should register in advance by calling 577-READ, ext 2. Cent$ible Nutrition is a program of the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service in Casper, funded by USDA's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.'The event is co-sponsored by the Natrona County Public Library.

Exchange student needs host

Benedikt, a fantastic 16-year-old student from Germany, needs a host family, according to a media release.

He loves practicing Judo, martial arts and archery. He also is involved in the drama department at school as a technician, building sets and taking care of the lighting and sound production. He enjoys the LEGO Robotics Club and would love to continue any of these activities while in the United States. Benedikt is an "A" student and also takes private Chinese lessons. He is willing to attend services with his host family, as he does so in Germany as well.
