U.S. Rep. Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo. was released from the Wyoming Medical Center Sept. 20 following a fall, according to her press office. She has not returned to Washington, D.C. yet but hopes to sometime next week.

While attending to her sick husband in the Casper hospital Sept. 15, Cubin fell and broke three bones in her left foot in five different places.

Cubin is currently working from her Casper home while trying to stay off her left foot and remain as immobile as possible.

Cubin hasn't voted since Sept. 6, according to the Washington Post's Web site. This amounts to 50 missed votes.

Overall, she has missed 386 votes this session or 42.6 percent of the votes.

Her doctors are still discussing the best course for her rehabilitation. Recovery has been complicated due to a previous back surgery that is aggravating her right leg.

Cubin returned to Casper earlier this month. Her husband, Dr. Frederick "Fritz" Cubin, re-entered the Casper hospital Sept. 12 and she has been by his side.

Her husband was released from the hospital Monday and has been resting at home.

Fritz Cubin has been in and out of the hospital for the past six months after being diagnosed with thrombocytopenia, a condition in which there are not enough blood platelets, cells that help blood clot, circulating in the body.

He had previously been released from the hospital at the end of July. He spent some of April and most of May in the hospital. He has battled an immune disorder for years.
