Tonight is the night if you have an opinion for or against several proposed Casper developments, the yearly renewal of all Casper liquor licenses or several new restaurant liquor licenses.
The public is invited to discuss these issues before the Casper City Council.
Representatives of a project near Sunrise Shopping Center and Wyoming Boulevard will appeal to the council for approval. The project was not approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
A plan to build affordable senior living apartments in north Casper is up for its first round of three needed approvals. The project includes 54-affordable senior apartments and 36-affordable family units near the baseball fields on Elma and K streets.
Developers plan to use a federal low-income housing tax credit program that provides tax breaks to investors in low income projects.
A 179-acre development off of Wyoming Boulevard and in between Meadowlark Hills and Valley Hills is also on the agenda for its first of three required approvals. Plans for the addition include the new CY Middle School, restaurants, a grocery store and roughly 600 apartments.
The council will vote to set March 18 as the public hearing date for a Fort Casper area sidewalk and sewer reconstruction project. The project is called a local assessment district project, meaning the city pays for the work on city property and the homeowner pays for work on his or her property.
A restaurant liquor license for the new Sanford's Grub and Pub on southeast Wyoming Boulevard will be considered, as well as one for La Costa Mexican restaurant on east Second Street and The Jazz Spot in downtown.
Finally, there will be several city contracts and purchases, including $183,441 for purchase of telephone equipment and related professional services and $11,995 for fitness equipment for the Casper Recreation Center.
