The Compact Issues Committee will meet this afternoon to continue reviewing revisions to the "compact," the document that governs the Natrona County School District.
The document is an agreement developed in 2001 between the board and the unions with the goal of improving their relationship. It also provides a vision statement for the district.
At a brief meeting in October, a CIC subcommittee brought forth a revised document based on changes suggested by board attorney Kathleen Dixon.
The changes included the addition of legal language that aligned the document with Wyoming state law, and further clarified that decisions made by any committee are subject to the final approval of the Natrona County School Board.
Language was also included in the draft that protects the committee from being sued by outside parties.
A paragraph spelled out that the presence of five or more school board members present at a CIC meeting will not be considered as a board meeting. There are nine school board members.
Monday's meeting will be at the district's central services office from 1 to 5 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. The draft document can be viewed on the district's Web site, www.natronaschools.org.
