Casper Fire receives smoke detectors

Sutherland's Lumber and Home Improvement Center and BRK Electronics have given the Casper Fire-EMS Department 150 First Alert smoke detectors through a grant, according to a media release.

The department has given away smoke detectors to in-need members of the community for nearly 20 years.

St. Mark's holds Holy Week services

St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Casper will hold Holy Week worship services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter, according to a media release.

On Thursday, a foot-washing service and Holy Eucharist begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by a stripping of the altar and sanctuary of all symbols and decoration. The Watch begins at 9 p.m.

On Friday, Solemn services will be held at 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dr. Todd Scott will conduct a special organ recital at noon. The Way of the Cross, a retracing of the Passion through the Holy City, will be held at 2 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., a Tenebrae service will be held. The service closes in darkness.

On Saturday, a candlelit Easter vigil will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Several baptisms and a reception are scheduled to follow.

On Sunday, Easter services will be held at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., with a brunch offered between the services at 9:15 a.m.

All in the community are invited to attend any of the services. St. Mark's is located at 701 S. Wolcott in Casper.

Casper Women's League holds forum

The Casper League of Women Voters and the Natrona County Public Library will hold a legislative forum on April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Crawford Room of the library, according to a media release.

The forum will feature Natrona County legislators, all of whom have been invited and most of whom have confirmed attendance.

The public is invited to participate by attending and asking questions of the legislators.

Casper League Secretary Jim Brown will moderate the forum, and the library will provide refreshments.
