Casper's west side may house another credit union if the Planning and Zoning Commission approves the request.
Local developer and real estate agent Randy Hall hopes to build Western Vista Credit Union in the Summit Addition near Wolf Creek. It will be located on the southwest side of Wyoming Boulevard, across from the current Mesa 5 development.
The commission will also hear a request for signs from the owners of the seven-store strip mall near the west-side Wal-Mart. The company, Amsource Laramie, LLC, may build another one in that area, said the director of new development, Bill Gaskill.
"That one happens to be doing really well," he said, about the current mall. "We would like to do another one in that same area."
Gaskill has two tenants ready to move in when construction is complete, Alltel and MasterCuts, and has several letters of intent from other businesses.
Even though he couldn't say which businesses may rent the spaces, he did say the areas were in fitness, beauty and food.
The commission will also hear requests from:
* Aspen Development, LLC wants to change the zoning on south Oakcrest Avenue to build townhouses.
* The First Christian Church and Marken Telecom want to build a 50-foot cell tower in the churched parking lot on west 11th Street.
* The commission will continue a discussion with BP Products of North America about the annexation of roughly 245 acres to create the Salt Creek Business Center.
