Authorities on Monday continued to investigate a weekend boating crash at Alcova Reservoir that sent four people to the hospital.
The crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Fremont Canyon area of the reservoir, said Natrona County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Sellers. The boat struck a canyon wall.
The impact injured all four of the boat's occupants, who were taken to Wyoming Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. The boaters - a 27-year-old woman, two 31-year-old men and a 22-year-old man -- live in the Casper area.
Sellers did not release their names. An update on their conditions was not available.
The crash is being jointly investigated by the sheriff's office and Wyoming Game and Fish. Authorities are looking into whether alcohol was involved.
Other boaters witnessed the crash, Sellers said. Investigators haven't determined how fast the craft was traveling. It apparently struck the canyon head-on.
The vessel, a 30-foot 1979 Excalibur speed boat, was recovered and is being kept by investigators.
Once the investigation is complete, the sheriff's office will forward it to the Natrona County District Attorney's Office to determine whether any charges are necessary.
