Health department cancels flu clinics

The Casper-Natrona County Health Department has canceled seasonal flu clinics set for Monday and Oct. 26.

The clinics, which were to be held at the Senior Center, will be rescheduled. They were canceled pending the arrival of additional seasonal flu vaccine.

Fort Caspar hosts traveling exhibit

Fort Caspar Museum is hosting a new traveling exhibit from the American Heritage Center in Laramie, according to a media release.

"Rural Images" is open for viewing through mid-December. The exhibit is a collection of cartoon art by J.R. Williams, Ace Reid, and Jerry Palen. The works of these three artists offer an insightful and sometimes humorous look into American agricultural life during the 20th Century.

The museum is currently open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Admission is $1.50 for adults, $1 for youth, and children 12 & under are free. For information, call 307-235-8462.

Library supporters receive state awards

Natrona County Public Library supporters Chris Mullen and Mick and Susie McMurry received community service awards at the Wyoming Library Association conference on Oct. 1 in Laramie, according to a media release.

Mullen received the Trustee Citation award for his six years of leadership, four of which were as president of the Natrona County Library Board of Trustees.

The McMurrys received a Meritorious Service Award for their longtime support of the Natrona County Library.

Museum offers Halloween treats

The Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center is offering visitors a free chance see its current exhibition, "I Want Candy: The Sweet Stuff in American Art," and receive a treat on Oct. 31, according to a media release.

The no-cost admission is for "anybody who comes to the NIC wearing a costume on Halloween," said Executive Director Holly Turner, and applies to children and adults.

The museum's regular admission for nonmembers is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-17.
