Police say they found 166 grams of meth
A Casper man faces multiple drug charges after a police officer reported finding 166 grams of methamphetamine in his truck.
Chad Nathan Stewart, 36, appeared in Natrona County Circuit Court on Monday to answer to cocaine and methamphetamine possession charges, along with one count of possessing meth with the intent to distribute.
The charges stem from June 18 traffic stop in Mills. An officer pulled over Stewart for an improper turn violation and performed several impairment tests on him after noticing Stewart had exaggerated reflexes and dilated pupils, according to the officer's affidavit.
When the officer searched the truck, he reported finding two gallon-size bags of methamphetamine, several smaller bags of the drug, a digital scale and syringes. Police said they also found cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle.
More than $2,600 was found in Stewart's wallet.
Stewart later spoke with two agents with Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. During his interview, he told them he bought methamphetamine to resell in the Casper area, according to an agent's affidavit.
He also admitted buying and selling roughly 500 grams of methamphetamine and said some of the cash that police found was from drug sales, the affidavit states.
Stewart, who indicated in court that he would be hiring his own attorney, remained held Tuesday at Natrona County Detention Center in lieu of $2,500. He is due back in court within a month for a preliminary hearing.
