Natrona County courts will celebrate Law Day and Juror Appreciation Day tomorrow with a number of free, public events.

There will be refreshments in the lobby of the Circuit Court and tours of both the Circuit and District courts. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the open house and anyone who has served as a juror in Natrona County will receive special recognition.

Congress designated May 1 as Law Day starting in 1961 by request of the American Bar Association.

The resolution establishing the day said, "It is set aside as a special day of celebration by the American people in appreciation of their liberties and the reaffirmation of their loyalty to the United States of America; of their rededication to the ideals of equality and justice under law in their relations with each other as well as with other nations; and for the cultivation of that respect for law that is so vital to the democratic way of life.

These events are planned for Tuesday at the Natrona County Circuit Court, 201 N. David St. on the fifth floor:

10 a.m to 2 p.m. Open house

10:30 a.m. Circuit Court Judge Steven Brown discusses the different jurisdictional levels of Wyoming courts
